Malaysia Online Shopping Fashion Shop with "plus size" available......yeah!

I was out today to TESCO Supermarket. They have little arcades with shops selling clothes as well.

I wasn't there to buy clothes but I got curious. Hey, maybe among all those blouses hanging on the racks, there could be something for me. NOT! This is Malaysia! Apparently, all clothes makers assume that since we're Asians, every woman here is size S (small) or XS (extra small).

By all accounts, yeah, I am short as most Asians but I am also curvy unlike most Asians. That's where the problem is.

So, at home while checking my FB account, I saw this Ad for the following website.

Malaysia Online Shopping Fashion Shop 马来西亚网购服装专卖店

I got curious and clicked. Here's the screenshot.

Scrolling down, I saw a nice black dress with the description "plus size". Hmm...? Not so convincing with the super dainty slim model they're using. However, when I cliked on the info, they really list out the "plus size" measurements for L, XL, 2XL and 3XL. OK :-), now I believe them.

I think the dress is beautiful. Don't know how it would look like on me. One will never know till one actually buys one. Too bad they're not using "plus size" models for the "plus size" range :-(

Me and the retail therapy.........

I did something I never thought I would do last night.

I went for retail therapy.

So, how did I end up with this? Let's begin by saying that I'm not feeling happy at work lately.

A very close colleague has made up her mind to leave the company heartbroken when our current Division Management decided to 'erase' her Section on the silly ground that all she did was paperwork and that her Section did not live up to their name of 'developing our suppliers' ( Read my story on the office space relocation which was the result of this sad event). Those were the shocking words said to me by the Management.

Hurt by the sudden move by the Management, my colleague did the drastic thing of taking up a similar job at a rival factory even though we all know very well that the rival company has a not-too-favourable work condition either. She said, at least the pay is better, the place is nearer to her house and most importantly she doesn't have to look at the face of the.......'eraser'.

Truth be told, she is not the only one hurt by the Management decision. I am one of those badly affected by this as well. My colleague and I have always been co-operative and supportive of each other at work. I know the hard work she has done. Even our Customers praised her for controlling our Suppliers so well. Isn't it sad that outsiders can see what you do and yet your own management are blind to it all?

Even from the moment the Management decided to 'erase' her Section by placing them under another Group ( notorious among the Division for their failures & lack of co-operation with each other ), she and I have come to a stumbling block. As the person who is in charge of procedures and Quality standards, I suddenly found myself with 'ghost figures' for the rules, job responsibilities and guidelines we have set up together. My colleague suddenly found herself having to report to at least THREE different people for different tasks. The Management has dropped onto her lap all the unfinished tasks by those people for her to follow up and conclude. It's crazy. So, now how about the jobs that she and I and the previous Management had discussed together and agreed that she was officially assigned to do?

I went to our Management complaining how disappointed I am that we, the middle management people, we were NEVER informed or consulted before making a major decision like this. I told him that at the end of the day, we are the people who have to perform the jobs and why were our opinions and views never taken into account?

Feeling frustrated and broken, I drove to a Shopping Mall on the way home and walked to a perfume shop. It's true that I'd been eyeing some designer perfumes lately but I had never felt really compelled to buy any till last night.

So, I approached the counter and asked to smell Nina by Nina Ricci, Love by Nina Ricci, Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker and Glow by JLo. The lady at the counter also recommended a Ferré Limited Edition perfume whose name looked like Rossé to me. At least smelling those perfumes took my mind off the problem at work, even only for that moment. It was a nice dilemma to have. Making up my mind which perfume to choose with the little money I have.

Love by Nina Ricci
What a pretty packaging!

I settled for Love by Nina Ricci as it was a Limited Edition item, the packaging was just me and I knew that if I didn't get that pretty bottle and packing tin, the images shall stick to my mind for the rest of my life. It's bad enough that what we had held on to at work had been snatched away from us but at least, here in my own world, nobody can take this sweet pretty Love away from me.

Love by Nina Ricci

Thank you Nina.

Which celebrity do I look like...as if?

Found this cool website called My Heritage. Click to go there.

This picture of mine was taken more than 12 years ago on a very good day. I look so nothing like this nowadays.

Of course I look nothing like her but it's so cool that somehow computers could work out some logic that I look like her. How COOL is that?

Olay Regenerist....changed the packaging.....changed the prices

Spent much of my 'forced annual leave' Saturday on window shopping.....something I hadn't done in what seemed like ages.

Just a few weeks ago, I was ecstatic when I saw arrays of Olay Regenerist products at a long-standing small-sized shopping mall Madam King's at nearly half of their usual prices. I mean, the usually MYR45+ priced Regenerist Eye-Lifting serum was there at MYR26 only.

The salesgirl said they were getting rid of 'old stocks' as Regenerist was changing to new packaging. My heart dropped to the floor when I heard this as packaging change simply is a dirty trick used by manufacturers to increase prices. Sure they will advertise it as 'new and improved' version but really it's nothing more than 'new packaging'.

Increasing the prices they really did. As I wandered into a tiny branch of Guardian drugstore at a nearby Melaka Mall, I saw a large poster by the Olay range.

I was flabbergasted when I saw the price list!

The Regenerist range which used to cost around MYR42+ now stand at an average MYR60 which is the prices of the L'Oreal Revitalift product range.

Greedy corporation. They're doing this smack in the midst of the economic downturn.

All because they change the packaging from this.........

to something like this.........

Oh great!

For me, good skincare is more a necessity than vanity. Sure, vanity plays an important part but I'm one of those people who have to be very careful about what I choose to put on my skin. It's sensitive. I sunburn easily and if a moisturiser isn't moist enough, I'd end up with dry reddish patches on my cheeks after 2 days of using. My skin can be very sensitive if certain ingredients in a product cause strange reactions. My female colleagues know me as someone who wouldn't hesitate throwing away a newly-bought face cream when it gave me breakouts.

The current range of Olay products namely Total Effects and Regenerist happen to work wonders on me. I once avoided Olay when a foaming cleanser gave me breakouts when I was 18. It was enough to make me avoid Olay till I hit 31. It was that bad. I tried Total Effects and Regenerist with hesitance at first and that was because the Nivea Whitening creme (which my last boyfriend just loved on me) has stopped to work that well on me as I got older.

What can I say? Beauty comes with a price and unfortunately, there are always these big corporations who see consumers as nothing more than cows to milk on.

The Kenko Fish Spa.....discount day!

My friend brought me to a Fish Spa during my trip to the capital city.

The spa is the first of its kind here and they happened to have a promotion going. A 30-minute Fish Theraphy session for MYR28 instead of the usual MYR38.

Being the discount junkies and freeloaders that we are, we grabbed this opportunity.

Fish theraphy is basically like this. You dip your feet into the water and the fish will come and nibble on your dead skin leaving you with smooth feet afterwards.

These little darlings had been featured in an episode of Ugly Betty where Whillemina had to do it to get it on with Danny's dad because apparently he has a foot fetish. Yikes!

Yes, it tickled so much and most of the customers giggled non-stop but I just looove the feeling of my feet after it was all over. I wish I could have these fish on my own and do it everyday. My feet have callusses at certain areas from moving and stepping on my manual-drive car pedals everyday.

Oh. The staff were very friendly too and they'll take your pictures and ask you to "autograph" it for display. I felt like a celebrity...ha...ha.
